I’m Thalia Marshburn, a passionate Fashion and Textiles major with a Concentration in Merchandising. I am currently enrolled in SUNY Oneonta’s 3 + 1 program with The Fashion Institute of Technology, where I will continue my studies in Advertising and Marketing Communications.
About Me
I’m passionate about Fashion and driven by courage.
As a young girl growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I developed a love for fashion at an early age. My passion for the art that is fashion has truly helped me grow into a confident, young woman. Fashion is not just clothing for me, but a way of expression that inspires me to be confident and creative.
Learning new skills and receiving insightful information on the fashion industry has allowed me to develop work ethic skills that will benefit me in my future endeavors. Being involved in fashion-focused clubs and studying fashion in merchandising/design courses has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of fashion and expand my connections with others.
I am overcome with satisfaction at all that I have learned and the skills I have gained while pursuing my academic career at SUNY Oneonta. This learning journey has allowed me to develop digital storytelling and professional skills, providing me an exceptional foundation in not only Fashion Journalism, but Marketing and Communications.
Experiences
While attending SUNY Oneonta, I have gained hands-on experience through a variety of academic coursework and projects. I have conducted a photoshoot, developed editorial pieces, conducted research on trends , and analyzed the impact of fashion on multiple cultures. My entry to fashion began in junior high school, where I participated in my school’s Fashion Show. Once I entered high school, I enrolled in an Intro to Fashion Design, which taught me aspects of the fashion industry from multiple perspectives.
